Dubai College

Dubai College is one of the world’s leading co-educational British schools. Renowned for its outstanding academic results, the College is equally successful in creative arts.

As the college needed a new lighting system for its Black Box Theater, a variety of versatile fixtures from Cyclops Lighting was supplied to serve the best theatrical performances and accommodate different looks: 4 x PR 300W warm white LED zoom profile, 12 x Par 150FZ RGBW COB LED par, 8 x LEDE 300S LED moving head with spot, wash, and animation effects, 4 x Sparkly Wash 37 RGBW LED moving head wash light, 4 x Flash 400 4 head LED blinder, and 4 x Par 100UV COB LED par. All fixtures were powered using 2 x Strand 12 channel relay racks. Given the need for both dimming and constant current, signal distribution was provided with Cyclops Lighting’ SPR 328 rack mountable DMX splitter. Avolites’ Titan Mobile was added for a fully featured lighting control system.

The lighting fixtures were rigged on a 13.5m x 8.5m top quality grid from Eurotruss using 16 x HD34 square trusses. 4 x Chain Master BGV-D8 Plus electric chain hoists were installed allowing for the grid’s safe suspension above students as well as easy access for maintenance. The truss grid was powder coated in a matt black finish, blending in perfectly with the ceiling.
