Sony has opened its first ever Middle East store at the Dubai Mall, in collaboration with Jumbo Electronics, on Feb. 9, 2015. The 560m2 boutique displays exclusive ranges of Sony products that allows for hands on Sony’s latest gadgets
Changing lighting colors, moving lights and gobo projections constitute a central part of the futuristic industrial design, lively and constantly changing look and feel of the store.
Procom Middle East was the selected supplier for the moving and color changing lights and the lighting control. Procom’s extensive line of Cyclops Lighting products provided the 3 types of fixtures that Sony designers needed:
The CL 300 spot lights provided the gobo projections of the Sony logos and its key brands. The Zoom 7 LED wash moving head give the gentle wash to the front part of the store and the CPX 37 RGBW LED was used to light up the inner part of the Eurotruss aluminum trusses that dominates the ceiling, giving it an industrial style.
The full set up was controlled by the powerful Titan One DMX dongle and the DMX network was powered by an Avolites truss splitter maintaining a robust signal over the large DMX distances covered and the long operation hours
The full gear had to undergo the stringent Dubai Mall safety control standards, especially for clamping, trussing and wiring.
The boutique which is spearheading Sony’s brand expansion in the Middle East market, has five distinct product zones for gaming, mobility, digital imaging, home entertainment and high-resolution audio. Its cost is estimated at 1.2 million dollars. The place recreates experiences that cater to the large numbers of tourist who visit the Dubai Mall.
